In this 4 week 16 hour workshop we will use multiple reference photos and a variety of watercolor techniques using QoR watercolors to create an underwater paradise of a vibrant coral reef & its colorful inhabitants, including sea turtles, fish, & other ocean creatures.
All skill levels
You will need to bring:
Brushes:
- 1” wash
- Rounds: #1 or #2, #4 or #6
- Dot brush
- Flat: #3 or #4
- Natural sponges (1-2) or package of mixed sizes (if available)
Fine line black ink pen: Micron, Faber Castel Pitt, or other permanent black ink pen.
Watercolor Pens
(Get a few colors of your choice in open stock or the sets. Graphix, Faber Castell, Ecoline-not lightfast)
Watercolor Pencils
(Get a few colors of your choice in open stock or in sets. Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer or Goldfaber, or Caran d’Ache Museum Aquarell or Supra, (neocolors are fine too)).
Masking Fluid PENS
I recommend getting both sizes.
*If you have watercolor supplies, please bring what you have.
I will provide:
- QoR watercolor paints
- Palettes (If you have your own palette that you prefer to work with, please bring it).
- Watercolor paper
- QoR watercolor grounds
- Water containers
- Reference photos
- Line art
- Transfer paper
