In this 2-week class, we will cover different pen drawing techniques, such as scratching, crosshatching, stippling, along with instructor demos showing how to apply these various techniques to your artwork.

Day 1: Contour Drawing and Parallel Line Drawing

Day 2: Crosshatching and Stippling



THESE ARE THE MATERIALS THAT TOM WILL BE SHOWING AND DISCUSSING IN CLASS.
PLEASE BRING ANYTHING YOU MIGHT ALREADY HAVE.

- 01, 08 - 005 Micron pigma pens (several)

- 1 Set of Koh-I-Noor rapidograph pens

- Bristol paper / 9x12" pad

- Plain white drawing paper (low acid)

- Assorted felt tip pens, preferably fine point (Sharpie, etc.)


Books to consider:

- Drawing in Pen and Ink by Claudia Nice (good beginning guide)

- Rendering in Pen and Ink by Arthur Guptill (more advanced)

- Pen and Ink Techniques by Frank Lohan
