This set contains charcoal tinted with colour, for a variety of earthy shades, including purple and green. The large, naturally water-soluble and highly versatile blocks are soft in texture delivering smooth smudge effects that can be manipulated over a large surface area. Each chunky block has a large volume of formula in it, equivalent to eight pencils, and has been designed with the strength and body to fit comfortably in the hand, giving optimum control. Achieve broad strokes and expressive marks when using the blocks whole or break into pieces and grate into powder for textures and detail. Used dry the blocks have a smooth texture and can be used for techniques such as blending, mixing and smudging.
